SFPD Arrest Suspect from Homicide on December 14, 2013

On December 26, 2013, the San Francisco Police Department, Homicide Detail arrested a 16 year old San Francisco resident for murder and attempted robbery. This homicide occurred on December 14, 2013, on the 500 block of Alemany Boulevard.

The robbery victim was walking in the area when he was approached by a group of males and surrounded. One of the suspects demanded the victim’s cell phone. One suspect produced a handgun while the other suspects were rifling though the victim’s possessions.

The victim offered no resistance and was complying with the robbery suspect’s demands when the armed suspect shot the robbery victim. The shot glanced off the victim’s face and struck one of the robbery suspects, killing him.

The other suspects ran from the scene. When police arrived on the scene, they found the wounded robbery victim and the deceased robbery suspect. The robbery victim was taken to the hospital where, very fortunately, he survived his injuries.

The Police Department’s investigation into this homicide is ongoing. Anyone with further information should contact the Police Department’s Homicide Detail at 415-553-1145. They can also call the Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444. Messages can also be sent via mobile phone to Text a Tip at TIP411. Begin the message with “SFPD.”

Because the suspect is a juvenile, no booking photo will be made available, and the suspect’s name will not be released.
