SFPD Arrests Aggravated Assault Suspect 23-087

On Friday, July 21, 2023, at approximately 11:16 am San Francisco Police officers responded to the unit block of Stockton St. regarding an assault that just occurred. Officers arrived on scene and located an injured elderly female. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene who transported her to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.  

Officers also located an additional victim who stated that an adult male spat on his face without provocation. The victim watched the suspect walk away and assault the elderly female also without provocation. This victim ran after the suspect and detained the suspect with the help of good Samaritans until officers arrived.  

Officers developed probable cause to arrest the adult male suspect, identified as 27-year-old male, James Ramsey. Ramsey was transported to San Francisco County Jail where he was booked for assault likely to produce great bodily injury (245(a)(4) PC), crime against an elder (368(b)(1) PC), assault and battery (242 PC), committing a felony while on bail (12022.1(a) PC), and resisting arrest (148(a)(1) PC). Ramsey was also booked for an Alameda County arrest warrant (Warrant# 21CR0054556, No Bail, Violation 245(a)(4) PC).
