SFPD Arrest Robbery Suspect From 16th and Potrero Incident

On October 20th, 2015 at approximately 7:30 pm, San Francisco Police officers arrested an armed robbery suspect with a handgun on board Muni bus line #9 at 16th Potrero Ave. Derrick Woods, male, 19, of San Francisco was booked into San Francisco County Jail for multiple counts of robbery, aggravated assault and firearm possession charges.

Woods committed two robberies while he was on board muni coach line # 9, both times brandishing his hand gun at his victims and taking their cell phones. After committing these two robberies, Woods fled off the bus and attempted to commit another robbery two blocks away on 18th and Potrero Ave, but was unsuccessful because the victim fought off Woods’ assaults. Woods was eventually arrested by Mission station officers, while he was trying to escape the scene from another Muni bus line #9. No booking photo will be released at this time due to pending identification matters.
