SFPD Apprehends Armed Robbery Suspect

On December 4, 2013 at approximately 8:30 p.m., Officers responded to the 1800 block of Polk Street regarding an armed robbery in progress. When Officers arrived at the scene, Nathaniel Lewis was being detained by two employees of the business. The employees advised the Officers that Nathaniel Lewis came into the business and attempted to rob them by pointing what appeared to be a machine gun. The employees subdued Lewis and held him until the officers arrived.

Northern Police Station is currently investigating this robbery and possibly two other robberies which may have been committed by this same suspect. The other robberies occurred on November 29, 2013, at 7:40 p.m. on the 1700 block of Lombard and on November 30, 2013, at 1:39 am on the 2000 block of Van Ness Avenue.

There is currently no booking photo available for this suspect because there are identification matters pending on the other two cases.
