SFPD Make Arrest in Bayview Homicide

On July 20th, 2016, San Francisco Police officers responded to the unit block of Dakota Street in the Bayview district regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, 48 year old San Francisco resident, Rayshawn Dejoa LaRue, laying on the ground suffering from several gunshot wounds. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but unfortunately LaRue succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

SFPD Homicide Investigators commenced an investigation that led to the identity of the suspect. In the early morning hours of July 25th, 2016, SFPD located and arrested Chris Brown, 49 years old, San Francisco resident, at 25th Street and Florida in the Mission District. Brown was taken into custody without incident. Due to pending identification matters, Brown’s booking photo will not be released at this time.
