Shots Fired in House Lead to Arrest and Seizure of Guns

On Monday, August 28, 2016 at approximately 6:49 PM, San Francisco Police Officers from Northern Station responded to Laguna and Green St. regarding shots fired. Responding officers contacted a witnesses to the incident who stated their friend was having a psychotic breakdown and was in possession of a firearm. Fearing for their safety they fled the residence where the suspect was located. As they fled the home they heard several gun shots from inside the residence. 

SFPD Officers set up a perimeter and attempted to locate the suspect. Shortly thereafter, officers contacted a man standing in the doorway where the suspect had last been seen. This man was detained without incident and was later identified as the suspect in question. After a thorough investigation by the Northern Street Crimes Unit, Northern Patrol, and the Northern Investigative Team the suspect, Jack Dane, age 63 of San Francisco was booked into San Francisco County Jail on several gun related charges including shooting at an inhabited dwelling and willfully and negligently discharging a firearm. 

During the course of the investigation, 57 Firearms including, 17 semi-automatic rifles, including machine guns, and 40 handguns were seized from the residence.
