SFPD Muni Task Force Makes Second Arrest in Fare Embezzlement Investigation

As part of an ongoing investigation into reported thefts of public fares on San Francisco’s Muni Cable Car system, the SFPD Muni Task Force (SFPD MTF) announced the arrest of a second suspect. This investigation began two months ago when the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA) notified the SFPD MTF of alleged theft of cable car fares by SFMTA employees. On April 26th at approximately 6:00 PM, SFPD MTF officers arrested David Reyes, a 55 year-old San Francisco resident, on the 1200 block of Mason Street. Reyes was booked into San Francisco County Jail on the charges of embezzlement and theft of public monies.
