SFPD Arrest Kidnapping Suspect at Ferry Building (17-080)

On May 22, 2017 at approximately 9:30 AM, San Francisco Police officers were dispatched to the Ferry Building on a report of an attempted kidnapping of a two year old child. A female suspect had grabbed the child from the arms of the child’s parents. Bystanders immediately intervened and were able to get the child from the suspect’s grasp. The child was reunited with his parents and was not harmed by the suspect. The bystanders were also able to detain the suspect until police arrived who then took custody of the suspect.

The suspect was identified as Jessica Pevey, a 33 year old female. Pevey was medically cleared at the hospital and subsequently booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of kidnapping and child endangerment.
