SFPD Make Arrest in Ingleside District Homicide (17-083)

On May 28, 2017, at 12:32 AM San Francisco Police officers responded to 4200 block of Mission Street in the Ingleside District regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, Alvaro Palma, 30 years old, San Francisco resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but unfortunately Palma succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

Based on information and evidence immediately obtained at the scene, officers located and detained a possible suspect on the 4200 block of Mission Street. San Francisco Police Homicide Investigators were notified and commenced an investigation. At the conclusion of an interview with the detainee, it was determined this individual was responsible for Palma’s murder. The suspect was identified as David Sanchez, 44 years old, San Francisco resident. Sanchez was booked into San Francisco County Jail on felony charges of murder, possession of narcotics for sales, and possession of a controlled substance while armed.

Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s booking photo will not be released at this time.
