SFPD Seek the Public’s Assistance in Solving a May 2017 Homicide (17-106)

On May 20, 2017 between the hours of 6:15AM and 11:00AM, a shooting took place on the 100 block of Alhambra Street in Marina District of San Francisco. The victim, 32 year-old Kelly Freeman, was sleeping on the steps of a building when he was shot by an unknown suspect. At approximately 11:30AM, the resident of the building called the police to report a man sleeping on his steps. Responding officers performed a well-being check on Freeman and saw that he was bleeding from a head wound. Paramedics responded to the scene and transported Freeman to a hospital where it was determined that he had been shot. Freeman was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Homicide Investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two persons of interest in this case. A surveillance camera captured images of the two subjects. Those images accompany this news release. While these subjects are only persons of interest, the public is cautioned to not approach them if seen, due to the violent nature of the crime. The first subject appears to be an adult male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a maroon or purple hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and black tennis shoes with white laces, similar to Converse Chuck Taylors. The second subject also appears to be an adult male with a light complexion, last seen wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt, a black jacket with white trim around zippered breast pockets, dark colored pants and what appear to be white and gray “Air Jordan 13”-style basketball shoes.
