SFPD Make Arrest in Fatal Traffic Collision (17-114)
On August 1, 2017, San Francisco Police officers responded to Harney Way and Executive Park Boulevard in the Bayview District on the report of a traffic collision. Upon arrival, the officers found a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian who was jogging on the sidewalk. The victim, a 37 year old San Francisco resident, tragically succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The driver, later identified as Devon Radel, a 21 year-old San Bruno resident, stayed at the scene until police and paramedics arrived. Radel was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries sustained from the collision.
On August 3, 2017, Radel was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one felony count of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and one misdemeanor count of reckless driving.
