SFPD Make Arrest in Richmond Auto Burglary 18-015
On January 22, 2018 at 1:34 PM, San Francisco Police officers responded to the 200 block of Clement Street regarding an auto burglary. Officers were able to obtain a description of the suspect and getaway vehicle involved. Investigators from the Richmond Station Investigation Team (SIT) subsequently issued a department wide Crime Alert.
On January 24, 2018 at approximately 3:00 PM, the suspect vehicle was spotted by Tenderloin Station officers. The vehicle fled before officers could make contact with any of the occupants. At approximately 4:20 PM, members of the Ingleside Station Plainclothes Team spotted the suspect vehicle. The plainclothes officers, with the assistance of uniformed patrol officers were able to effect a traffic stop and conduct an investigation.
26 year-old San Francisco resident Tyrell Baldwin was placed under arrest for the January 22nd auto burglary. Baldwin was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for felony second degree burglary. It was later determined Baldwin was involved in another auto burglary that occurred on January 19th, 2018 in the Central District and will be charged accordingly
34 year-old San Francisco resident Fredrick Reed was cited for driving with a suspended license and released at the scene.
A third adult male occupant was detained and released at the scene without incident.
