SFPD Academy’s 258th Basic Class Graduates 18-023
The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 258th Basic Academy Class, Friday, February 9th, 2018, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850 19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M. There are 38 recruits graduating (34 men and 4 women).
Ten members have earned Bachelor’s degrees and five have earned Associate’s degrees. Five graduates served in the military as members of the US Army, US Air Force, and US Marine Corps. Members of the class previously served as SFPD Cadets and Patrol Service Aides, Emergency Medical Technicians, and were employed in the fields of Customer Service, Education, Social Work, Security, Skilled Trades, and Sales.
Several graduates are bilingual, fluent in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Hindi, Farsi, and Urdu.

The academy class has completed 34 weeks of training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn SFPD officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at various district stations.
