On Sunday, February 25, 2018, San Francisco Police officers from Central Station’s Plainclothes Unit responded to a call for service at Ghirardelli Square area parking garage regarding auto burglaries. At approximately 7:30 PM, they observed an unknown male at the corner of Beach Street and Larkin Street who matched the suspect’s description. Officers immediately conducted an investigation and learned there had been several burglarized vehicles in the immediate area, associated with a suspect vehicle that had driven through a nearby parking garage gate without paying the day before. Officers broadcast a description of the suspect and suspect vehicle.

The plainclothes officers observed a suspect walking towards a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle. The suspect entered the vehicle and was immediately detained by plainclothes officers. A second suspect was located in the backseat of the vehicle and detained. A firearm was located inside the suspect’s vehicle.

Through the course of the investigation it was determined the suspect was involved in the burglaries of the vehicles and several other vehicle break-ins from the day before. Both suspects were placed under arrest.

The suspect, identified as 22 year-old Oakland resident Jalen Bryant, was booked at the San Francisco County Jail on the following charges: possession of burglary tools, possessing a concealed firearm in a vehicle, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, vandalism and a probation violation.

The second suspect, 22 year old Antioch resident Pride Scott, was cited and released from Central station on the following charges: possession of burglary tools and providing a false identification to a peace officer.
