Investigation Regarding Armed Suspect Leads to Ingleside District Officer Involved Shooting 18-045

Update to Ingleside District Officer Involved Shooting - March 22, 2018

On March 21, 2018 at approximately 4:30 PM, San Francisco police officers from Ingleside Police Station responded to the 200 block of Amazon Avenue regarding a report of a man with a gun. The investigation led the officers to a business on the corner of Geneva Avenue and London Street where an officer involved shooting occurred.

The suspect in the incident, identified as 21 year-old Suisun City resident Jehad Eid, was injured and transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH). Despite lifesaving efforts Eid succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased Wednesday evening.

This is an active and ongoing investigation in the early stages. Investigations are being conducted by the San Francisco Police Department’s Homicide Detail, the San Francisco District Attorney's Independent Investigations Bureau, the Department of Police Accountability, the SFPD Internal Affairs Division and the San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office.

On March 21, 2018 at approximately 4:30 PM, San Francisco police officers from Ingleside Police Station responded to the 200 block of Amazon Avenue regarding a report of a man with a gun. The investigation led the officers to a business on the corner of Geneva Avenue and London Street. 

Officers entered the business and made contact with several individuals. Shots were exchanged. One officer and five others (including the suspect) were struck by
gunfire and transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH).
Two of those injured, including the suspect in the initial man with a gun call, were listed in life threatening status. Three of those injured, including the SFPD officer, were listed in non-life threatening condition. Information regarding the sixth patient, a juvenile, cannot be released due confidentiality laws.
