SFPD Arrests Tenderloin Homicide Suspect 24-127(a)
On October 30, 2024, at approximately 6:11 p.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to the area of Ellis and Jones Streets on a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid and paramedics arrived on scene and transported the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of the emergency responders and medical staff, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was declared deceased in the hospital.
The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Through the course of the investigation investigators identified the suspect. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain an arrest warrant for the suspect and a search warrant for his residences.
On December 12, 2024, investigators located and placed the suspect into custody. Investigators served search warrants in San Francisco, Hayward, and Antioch, California. Investigators located and seized evidence as a result of the search warrants.
The suspect identified as 22-year-old male Michael Javius from Hayward was arrested and transported to San Francisco County Jail. Javius was booked for the arrest warrant on the violations of homicide (187 PC), conspiracy (182 PC), accessory after the fact (32 PC).
