SFPD Arrests Commercial Burglary Suspect 24-139
Suspect part of Burglary Crew
On November 7, 2024, at approximately 2:12 a.m. SFPD officers from Bayview Station responded to a liquor store located on the 700 block of 22nd St. regarding a burglary in progress. Officers arrived on scene and discovered that suspects forced entry into the business by breaking down the front entry and stealing store merchandise and US Currency. The investigation determined that multiple suspects entered the premises and fled the scene in several vehicles.
Responding Bayview units located one of the suspect vehicles on NB Hwy 101 and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle failed to yield and fled from the officers, but the officers did not pursue it. The officers continued NB Hwy 101 and came upon a solo vehicle collision on NB Highway 101 near the 7th Street exit. As the officers neared the collision, they discovered it was the suspect vehicle and observed the suspect jump off the freeway overpass and land approximately 40 feet below onto 15th and Vermont St. The adult male suspect was taken into custody and was transported to the hospital for life-threatening injuries caused by the fall.
During the investigation officers located and seized a loaded firearm along with suspected stolen merchandise stolen during the burglary. Investigators also determined that the vehicles used in the burglary were stolen vehicles that were later recovered.
A review of recent burglaries has led investigators to investigate connections to other incidents based on similarities in suspect description, victim similarities, and modus operandi (M.O.). Investigators identified and determined the suspect involvement in two additional burglaries that occurred that same night in the Ingleside and Mission Districts. The suspect was charged and arrested for a total of three separate burglaries.
Due to the open investigation, the name of the arrested suspect is not being released at this time. Although an arrest has been made, SFPD investigators are diligently following up on leads and information for this active investigation to arrest the additional suspects. Photographs are attached to this news release.
