SFPD Investigators Arrest Prolific Commercial Burglar 18-064

On April 25, 2018 at approximately 11:13 AM, members of the San Francisco Police Department’s Burglary Unit arrested 58 year-old James Flanagan of San Francisco, on the 500 block of Ellis Street. The arrest was in regards to a series of commercial burglaries of which Flanagan had been identified as the suspect.

The burglaries primarily targeted tech startup companies throughout the Central and Southern Police Districts over a six week period between March 12, 2018 and April 24th, 2018. Losses in the burglaries included nearly $75,000 worth of electronics.

An investigation led to the identification of Flanagan who already had a felony warrant for his arrest. Flanagan was arrested and charged with twelve counts of burglary and nine counts of grand theft. Flanagan has an extensive history of burglary arrests and was on felony probation during these crimes.
