SFPD are Seeking Public Assistance in Locating Owner of Dogs Involved in Dolores Park Incident 18-069

On May 13, 2018 at approximately 11:45 AM, SFPD officers responded to Dolores Park regarding a dog bite/attack.

Upon arrival, the male suspect and two dogs had left the scene.  A preliminary investigation revealed that three dogs were in the designated unleashed area when two of the dogs, one brown Pit bull and one gray Pit bull, attacked the other dog, an Ihasapoo named “Bloom.” As a result of the attack, Bloom suffered puncture wounds to her back. Members of Bloom’s family attempted to separate the animals and also suffered bite wounds. 

The male suspect secured the pit bulls with leashes and left the scene without providing his identification information or any information regarding the dogs’ vaccination records.  He was last seen northbound on Noe Street. Officers searched the area but were not able to locate the suspect or the dogs.

Two ambulances and an SFFD Paramedic Captain responded to the scene and treated the victims. A 43 year-old female, Culver City resident, sustained bite wounds to her left hand.  A 49 year-old male and an 18 year-old female, both of Culver City, sustained bite wounds to their left hands.  A 23 year-old female, San Francisco resident, sustained bite wounds to her right hand. Three of the victims were transported to local hospitals for further treatment.  Bloom was treated for her bite wound by a veterinarian.

The SFPD Vicious and Dangerous Dog Unit is investigating the incident and is seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect and locating the dogs.
