Crime Scene Investigations responds to scenes to document and collect evidence. Specifically, members of this unit perform photography and videography, fingerprint development and identification, collection of DNA and trace evidence, grid searches for evidence, excavating, sifting, metal detection, casting impressions, copper and lead detection, FARO scanning, laser measuring, CAD diagramming, and trajectory analysis on vehicles and crime scenes. CSI staff also perform Bloodstain Pattern Analysis and crime scene reconstruction, digital forensics, video retrieval and analysis, forensic art, and photo processing. Nine members of CSI are certified in their respective disciplines.
