SFPD Makes Arrests in Strong - Arm Robbery Series 18-138

In September of 2018, a series of strong-arm robberies occurred in the Mission, Ingleside and Taraval District s of San Francisco. The suspect in these robberies entered various stores and forcefully opened cash registers, stealing the U.S. currency. On other occasions , the suspect would wait until the cash register was open and then forcefully take the U.S. currency out. In one incident, the suspect robbed a person on the street using a knife. Investigators received reports of incidents at the following locations:

  • September 12th, 2018 at 2:35 AM: 3900 block of 18th Street September 13th, 2018 at 3:52 AM: 400 block of Castro Street
  • September 13th, 2018 at 6:26 AM: San Jose Avenue/Mt. Vernon September 13th, 2018 at 8:10 AM: 600 block of Chenery
  • September 14th, 2018 at 6:00 PM: 3100 block of 24 th Street September 22nd, 2018 at 6:20 AM: 600 block of Monterey Blvd
  • September 22nd, 2018 at 9:50 AM: 600 block or Persia Avenue

The San Francisco Police Department Robbery Unit began an investigation that led to the identity of the suspect and her co-conspirator. On September 20th at approximately 9:55AM, 50 year-old Angela Holmes-Singletary was arrested in San Francisco. On September 22nd at approximately 2:15 PM, officers arrested the primary suspect, 24 year-old Marquita Davis, on the 400 block of Grafton Avenue in San Francisco.

Holmes - Singletary and Davis were booked at San Francisco County Jail on eight counts of robbery, aggravated assault and four counts of conspiracy.

Due to pending identification matters, Davis ’s booking photo is not being released at this time. Holmes-Singletary’s booking photo accompanies this news release.
