SFPD Makes Arrest in Mission District Vandalism on Police Vehicle 19-091

On July 21st, 2019 at approximately 12:49 AM, San Francisco Police officers from Mission District Police Station responded to a reported vandalism incident at the intersection of 16th street and Albion Street. Upon arrival, officers parked their marked patrol vehicle on the southeast corner of the intersection and proceeded to investigate the initial vandalism call.

While investigating, officers heard an individual yell obscenities towards them followed by the sound of a loud bang. Officers immediately returned to their patrol vehicle and observed shards of glass on the rear of the car as well as an individual fleeing the vicinity on a skateboard. Believing the fleeing individual to just have committed a vandalism officers initiated a foot pursuit. After a short chase, officers were able to quickly apprehend the individual and detain him.

After an investigation utilizing social media video and witness statements, officers were able to positively identify the suspect as 24 year-old Neil Norgren of San Francisco. He was booked into the San Francisco County Jail on charges of vandalism, resisting arrest, and a traffic violation.
