SFPD Make Arrest in Violent Bayview Robbery Series 19-062
On January 15, 2019, at approximately 8:45 PM, San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to 3rd Street and Paul Avenue regarding a robbery. The victim, a 24 year-old female, said she was approached by an unknown male who punched her, causing her to fall to the ground and lose consciousness. The male took the victim’s property and fled the scene.
On March 14, 2019, at approximately 2:35 AM, San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 1900 block of Keith Street regarding a robbery. The victim, a 52 year-old female, said she was approached by an unknown male who punched her in the head several times causing her to fall to the ground. While on the ground the male kicked her and demanded her money. The male took the victim’s property and fled the scene.
On March 19, 2019, at approximately 10:00 PM, San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to 3rd Street and Paul Avenue regarding a robbery. The victim, a 62 year-old female, said she was approached by an unknown male, but could only remember that she lost consciousness. The victim awoke to find many of her personal items missing.
On April 17, 2019, at approximately 9:15 PM, San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 6200 block of 3rd Street regarding a robbery. The victim, a 24 year-old female, said she was approached by and unknown male who punched her causing her to fall to the ground. While on the ground the male punched the victim several more times. The male took the victim’s property and fled the scene.
On April 24, 2019, at approximately 9:50 PM San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 3800 block of 3rd Street on a report of a robbery.
The victim, a 45 year-old female, said she had just withdrawn money from an ATM. The victim said that she was confronted by an unknown male who demanded her money. The male punched the victim twice and took her money. The suspect ran to the victim’s vehicle, which was parked nearby with the keys in the ignition. The victim got into her car in an effort to retrieve her keys. The victim was able to get her keys back, but not before the male bit her on the hand. The male fled the scene on foot.
On April 25, 2019, at approximately 9:15 PM, San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to Hollister Avenue and Ingalls Street on a report of a robbery. The victim, a 20 year-old female, said that she was approached by an unknown male. The male grabbed her by the arm and punched her in the face causing her to fall to the ground and lose consciousness. The victim awoke to find many of her personal items missing.
On May 3, 2019, at approximately 9:10 PM San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 1200 block of Hollister Avenue for a report of a robbery. The victim, a 30 year-old female, said that she was approached by an unknown male who punched her causing her to lose consciousness. The victim awoke to find many of her personal items missing.
On May 4, 2019, at approximately 2:05 AM San Francisco Police officers from Bayview Station responded to the 2500 block of 3rd Street for a report of a robbery. The victim, a 40 year-old female, said that she was approached by an unknown male who punched her in the face two times. The male and the victim struggled over the victim’s purse. The male pushed the victim to the ground causing her to hit her head and lose consciousness. When the victim awoke she watched the male running away from the scene with her purse.
Believing that the same suspect was responsible for this series of violent robberies, the SFPD Robbery Detail took over the investigation from the Bayview Station Investigation Team. The investigation led to the identification of the suspect as 52 year-old Donnell Guidry of San Francisco.
On Wednesday, May 15, 2019 Guidry was arrested and booked at San Francisco County Jail on one count of first-degree robbery, seven counts of second-degree robbery, one count of mayhem, one count of attempted carjacking, six counts of assault with means of force likely to cause great bodily injury, one count of criminal threats, and two counts of committing a felony while on bail.
Due to pending identification matters Guidry’s booking photo is not being released at this time.
Investigators have recovered unique evidence that might belong to another victim that has not reported a crime or a victim from another jurisdiction. Anyone with information regarding a keychain with a picture of a Korean Won (currency) that may be related to these crimes is encouraged to contact the San Francisco Police Department.
