SFPD Recover a $15,000 Flute for a Vehicle Break-in Victim 19-024
On Thursday February 14th, 2019 at approximately 10:00PM a San Francisco resident parked his vehicle on the 800 block of 35th Avenue. When he returned to his vehicle around 8:00 AM on February 15th, he discovered that his vehicle had been unlocked and a case containing his wife’s flute was missing. The flute was valued at $ 15,000. The victim filed a Police report regarding the incident.
On Friday, February 15th at approximately 7:07AM, Tenderloin officers patrolling the 800 block of Eddy Street observed a subject whom they recognized from a department email stating that subject had probable cause for arrest for burglary.
Officers contacted the subject, 33 year-old transient Sean Gagnon and placed him under arrest without incident. Gagnon was booked at San Francisco County Jail for burglary and possession of stolen property.
The stolen flute was found in Gagnon’s property and was returned to its owner. A photo of the owner being reunited with the flute accompanies this news release.
