SFPD Make Arrest in Ingleside District Homicide 18-158

On December 1st, 2018 at approximately 9:45 PM, San Francisco Police officers responded to Geneva Avenue and Mission Street in the Ingleside district regarding a stabbing. The officers found two injured victims and located a witness who stated that a third victim was loaded into a vehicle and driven away. The victim, 16 year-old Josue David Mejia Sanchez, was dropped off at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH ) suffering from a stab wound to his neck. Unfortunately, Sanchez succumbed to his injuries.

San Francisco Police Department Homicide investigators commenced an investigation that led to the identity of the suspect. On December 3rd, 2018, at approximately 6:00 PM, Homicide Investigators located and arrested 38 year-old San Francisco resident, Sergio Rocha at ZSFGH while he was being treated for an injury. After being interviewed, Rocha was booked in absentia on the charge of homicide. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s booking photo will not be released at this time.
