As a San Franciscan, I don’t do humidity.
A few days ago, I was walking through Balboa Park and was mentioning the stuffy humidity on a warm day and I heard someone say “earthquake weather.” I immediately shuddered at the thought of a major earthquake occurring and the anger at someone who would even mention “earthquake” (as if he had ‘jinxed’ us and that the cosmos would now snap into action at this verbal faux pas.)
While we may be conditioned to fear the worst, we must all transcend fear into action. With the 29th anniversary of the Loma Prieta earthquake fast approaching, let’s take time this month to empower ourselves.
