SFPD & CHP Issue 126 Citations in Joint Traffic Enforcement Operation

The San Francisco Police Department and The California Highway Patrol issued a total of 126 citations during yesterday’s joint traffic enforcement operation.

San Francisco Police issued a total of 89 citations and California Highway Patrol issued 37 citations. These violations range from using wireless devices (distracted driving), texting while driving, failure to obey posted signs, pedestrian right of ways, stop sign, red light, seat belt and suspended license.

Year to date, San Francisco has seen four of the seven pedestrian traffic fatalities occur along Van Ness Avenue. This is an example of the Department’s commitment to the City’s Vision Zero plan. The Department reminds all who use our streets to do their part in making sure we all can go home safely.
