SFPD Academy Graduation, May 2nd
The San Francisco Police Department will be holding a graduation ceremony for the 238th Academy Class on Friday, May 2nd, at the Scottish Rite Auditorium, 2850-19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. at 6:00 P.M. There are 38 recruits graduating from the class.
In this class there are the following degrees; 1 recruit that earned a Masters degree, 24 have Bachelor’s degrees, 2 have Associates degrees and 1 has a Postgraduate Teaching Credentials and 6 have prior military. Out of the 38 recruits there are 9 female recruits and the remaining are males. The youngest recruit is 22 years old and the oldest is 53 years old. Several of the recruits are bilingual. The languages spoken are: Tagalog, Kapangpangan, Spanish and Cantonese.
The 238th Academy Class has completed 31 weeks of training. Following the graduation, the newly sworn officers will begin a 16-week field-training program at the Department’s district stations.
