SFPD Arrest Two Homicide Suspects

The San Francisco Police Department has arrested two suspects in connection with the July 22, 2014, homicide that occurred on the 100 block of 6th Street in the Southern Police District. Darius York, 34 years old, and Joseph Young, 33 years old, both San Francisco residents, were arrested in Fremont, California by SFPD for murder and conspiracy.

On July 22, 2014, at approximately 5:11 AM, officers responded to a 911 call that someone was hurt in the area of 6th Street and Minna Alley.  Officers were later re-routed to SFGH where a shooting victim had been transported by friends. The victim, Daniel Beltran, 19 years old, succumbed to his injury shortly after his arrival at SFGH.

Numerous officers and investigators responded to the area of 6th Street and Minna Alley and determined the shooting had occurred in a lobby of a building on the 100 block of 6th Street.  Through numerous investigative leads, our investigators located York and Young in Fremont, CA where they were taken into custody on July 22, 2014, at approximately 11:30 PM. They were booked into the County Jail this morning.

Although there have been arrests made, investigators are asking anyone with information on this case to contact the San Francisco Police anonymously at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message. There is no booking photo available at this time, because of the pending identification matters.
