Did you know that the SFPD recovers countless bikes annually, that are believed to have been stolen? Many of these bikes are never reunited with their owners because they could not be positively identified via serial number or other information that could connect a bike to it's rightful owner.

This does not have to happen and it's as easy as taking a couple of minutes to register your new bike with SAFE Bikes, a program created through the partnership of SFPD, SF SAFE, and some very dedicated community members. SAFE Bikes is trying to take a bite out of bike theft with bicycle theft prevention education as well registration database that can connect you with your stolen bike faster.
