SFPD's Auxiliary Law Enforcement Response Team Disaster Training Drill & Celebration Event

The San Francisco Police Department’s Auxiliary Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) is a volunteer citizen disaster preparedness program that recruits, trains, credentials, and uniforms volunteers to assist law enforcement in the event of a natural or man-made disaster. Volunteers can be tasked with a wide variety of responsibilities such as traffic control, foot patrol of business and residential areas, reporting criminal activity, assisting with medical aid, assisting at district police stations, directing individuals to mass casualty and shelter locations, assisting at reunification centers, and various other needs that may arise during a disaster.

ALERT would like to invite you to celebrate the milestone of having trained its 100th ALERT volunteer. A Quarterly Training Drill for existing volunteers will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015 from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, at the San Francisco Police Academy, located at 350 Amber Drive. The public and persons interested in becoming an ALERT volunteer are invited to observe the disaster drills.

A Celebration BBQ, with hamburgers, chips, and beverages will follow the training, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Supervisor Scott Wiener and members of the SFPD Command Staff are expected to attend. We hope to see you there!
