SFPD Make Arrest in November 22nd Stabbing Homicide

San Francisco Police have made an arrest in the November 22, 2015 stabbing homicide that occurred on the unit block of Ceres Street in the Bayview district. In that incident, officers responded to a stabbing that occurred on the sidewalk. Officers located Jorge Villacorte-Garcia, 44, male of San Francisco unconscious on the ground. Officers summoned an ambulance and rendered aid. Villacorte-Garcia had multiple stab wounds to his upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Through the course of their investigation, San Francisco Police Homicide Investigators developed probable cause to arrest Jose Freddy Mata, 51, of San Francisco. On November 23, 2015, at approximately 7:53AM Mata was located on the 100 block of Williams Street in San Francisco where he was taken into custody without incident. He was later booked into San Francisco County Jail for murder. A booking photo accompanies this press release.
