The San Francisco Police Department is working with the United States Department of Justice, (DOJ), Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) on a Collaborative Reform Initiative for Technical Assistance (CRI) of our agency.

The purpose of the Collaborative Reform is to improve trust between police agencies and the communities they serve. The process is a long-term, strategy approach that identifies issues within an agency that may be affecting public trust and offers recommendations based on a comprehensive assessment on how to resolve those issues.

The first step the DOJ takes in this process is to hold community listening sessions. The goal is to provide a forum in which members of the community are able to express their suggestions, concerns, and ideas to the DOJ Collaborative Team.

Dates of these community meetings are held as followed:

Wednesday, February 24, 2016
6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Thurgood Marshall High School
45 Conkling Street – San Francisco

Tuesday, March 8th, 2016
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Mission High School Auditorium
3750 18th Street- San Francisco

Thursday, March 10th, 2016
6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Gateway High School Auditorium
1430 Scott Street - San Francisco

We would like to stress that although the Police Department supports this initiative and is actively assisting in spreading the word in regard to the listening sessions, representatives from the Police Department will not be in attendance at these meetings.
