SFPD Seeks Public’s Assistance in Finding Fatal Hit & Run Suspect 23-148

On Sunday, July 9, 2023, at approximately 2:41 a.m., San Francisco Police officers responded to South Van Ness Ave. and 18th St. regarding a vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Officers arrived on scene and located an adult male pedestrian suffering from injuries caused by the collision. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene who pronounced the victim deceased despite lifesaving measures.  

The driver and the vehicle involved in the collision fled the scene and remains outstanding.  

The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigations Unit (TCIU) is leading the investigation and is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved.
