SFPD Seek Public Assistance in Identifying Airport Theft Suspect 19-020

On February 17, 2019, at approximately 1:40PM, an unidentified suspect stole a case from a Terminal 3 baggage claim carousel at San Francisco International Airport (SFO). The case contained a Glock 9MM pistol, two magazines, 20 rounds of ammunition, two flashlights and a holster.

A member of SFPD’s Taraval Police Station and a Night Investigations Sergeant recognized the suspect from a crime alert bulletin circulated within the Department. Investigators assigned to the SFPD Airport Bureau developed probable cause to obtain a search warrant for the suspect’s residence.

On the morning of March 21, 2019, the search warrant was served at the suspect’s residence on the 300 block of Delano Avenue in San Francisco. As a result of the search warrant, evidence linking the suspect to the theft was recovered.

The suspect, 48 year-old Dermot O’Sullivan was taken into custody near Ocean Avenue and San Jose Avenue. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail on the charges of burglary in the second degree and grand theft. A booking photo of O’Sullivan accompanies this news release.
