SFPD Makes Arrests in Three San Francisco Homicides 19-071

On Sunday, October 2, 2016 at approximately 2:25AM, San Francisco Police responded to the 400 block of 6th Street on a report of a shooting. Officers located three victims suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. All three victims were transported to San Francisco General Hospital. Unfortunately one victim, 27 year-old John Sanyaolu, succumbed to his injuries. The SFPD Homicide detail commenced an investigation, which led to the identity of the suspect, 29 year-old Jesse Jones of Fairfield. On Thursday May 23, 2019 at approximately 9:00AM, with the assistance of Fairfield Police Department, San Francisco Police officers served a search warrant on the2500 block of Raleigh Court in Fairfield, CA. Jones was arrested and booked at San Francisco County Jail on one count of homicide, two counts of attempted homicide and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon.

On Saturday, May 18, 2019 at approximately 5:35AM, San Francisco Police responded to the 800 block of Turk Street on a report of a shooting. Officers located the victim, 58 year-old Thomas Walsh, suffering from a gunshot wound. Walsh was pronounced deceased at the scene. The SFPD Homicide detail commenced an investigation, which led to the identity of the suspect, 22 year-old Afakasi Afakasi of San Francisco. On Friday May 24, 2019 at approximately 4:45PM, San Francisco Police officers served a search warrant on the 1200 block of Turk Street. Afakasi was arrested and booked at San Francisco County Jail on one count of homicide.

On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at approximately 12:42PM, San Francisco Police responded to the intersection of Golden Gate Avenue and Hyde Street on a report of a shooting. Officers located an unidentified male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The male was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Officers on scene broadcasted a suspect vehicle description. San Francisco Police Officers located the vehicle, which fled eastbound on the Bay Bridge. Officers pursued the suspect vehicle into Oakland where the driver crashed at the intersection of Mandela Parkway and 24th Street. Officers arrested the driver, 46 year-old Marion Robinson of Martinez. Martinez was booked at San Francisco County Jail on one count of homicide and one count of reckless evading of a police officer.

Due to pending identification matters no booking photos of the suspects are being released at this time.
