SFPD Makes Arrests in Jack Palladino Homicide 21-025

On January 28, 2021, at approximately 4:51 p.m., officers responded to Page Street and Masonic Avenue regarding a report of a robbery. Officers arrived on scene and discovered a 76-year-old male victim lying in the street suffering from injuries. The victim was being treated by personnel from the San Francisco Fire Department. Witnesses reported seeing a suspect in the passenger side of a vehicle in a physical struggle over the victim's camera. During the struggle, the vehicle sped away causing the victim to fall to the ground.

On Monday, February 1, 2021, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The victim was identified as Jack Palladino of San Francisco.

This incident is being investigated by members of the SFPD Homicide Detail.

Investigators developed information that led to the identity of two suspects: 24-year-old Lawrence Thomas of Pittsburg and 23-year-old Tyjone Flournoy of San Francisco. On Friday, January 29, 2021, Thomas was taken into custody without incident in the area of Middle Point Road and Hare Street. On Saturday, January 30, 2021, and with the assistance from the FBI Northern Nevada Safe Streets Task Force, Flournoy was taken into custody without incident on the 2500 block of East 2nd Street in Reno, Nevada.

Thomas was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked on charges of homicide (187(a) PC), attempted robbery (664/211 PC), aggravated kidnapping (209(b)(1) PC), assault with a deadly weapon (245(a)(1) PC), conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC), false imprisonment (236 PC), elder abuse (368(b)(2)(A) PC) and great bodily injury enhancement (12022.7 PC).

Flournoy was transported to San Francisco County Jail and booked on charges of homicide (187 (a) PC), attempted robbery (664/211 PC), aggravated kidnapping (209(b)(1) PC), assault with a deadly weapon (245(a)(1) PC), conspiracy (182(a)(1) PC), false imprisonment (236 PC), elder abuse (368(b)(2)(A) PC) and great bodily injury enhancement (12022.7 PC).
