SFPD Makes Arrest in Shooting Incident 25-003

On January 13, 2025, at approximately 6:00 a.m., San Francisco Police officers from Southern Station responded to the area of 4th and Berry Streets regarding a shots fired incident. Officers arrived on scene and met with a MUNI bus driver who stated that an unknown male shot at him and fled on 4th Street. The bullet went through the windshield and struck a passenger seat inside the bus. The victim was not struck by gunfire. Paramedics responded to the scene and assessed the victim. There were 15-20 passengers inside the bus at the time of the incident; however, the passengers did not remain at the scene to speak with police.

Through the course of their investigation, officers located the suspect nearby and determined a firearm had been discarded. Officers placed 58-year-old Adolph Patrick Greene of Oakland into custody.  Greene was charged with discharge of a firearm of occupied motor vehicle (246 PC), malicious mischief (594(b)(1)PC), carrying a loaded firearm by a convicted felon (25850(c)(1)PC), felon in possession of a firearm (29800(a)(1)PC), carrying a loaded firearm in a public place (25850(a)PC), carrying a concealed firearm (25400(a)(2)PC), felon in possession of ammunition (30305(a)(1)PC), violent felon with firearm (29900(a)(1)PC), destroying or concealing evidence (135 PC), possession of drug paraphernalia (11364(a) H&S).

A firearm was located and recovered with the assistance of the San Francisco Police Department Marine Unit.

“Violence against any city employee will not be tolerated,” said Chief Bill Scott. “I’m thankful for the responding officers who acted quickly in apprehending the suspect and canvassing the area to locate evidence.”

While an arrest has been made, this remains an open and active investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact SFPD at 415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the message with SFPD.
