SFPD Makes Arrest in Market Street Homicide 23-046

On Thursday, April 27, 2023, at approximately 6:33 p.m., San Francisco Police officers from Tenderloin Station responded to the 800 block of Market Street regarding a report of a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim, a 24-year-old female, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.    

Despite efforts by first responders and medical personnel, the victim succumbed to her injuries. 

The SFPD Homicide Detail took over the investigation. The preliminary investigation discovered that during this incident a theft occurred. Through the course of their investigation, the suspect was identified as 33-year-old Michael Earl-Wayne Anthony who was working in the capacity as a private security guard. Anthony was booked into San Francisco County Jail on the charge of homicide (187(a)PC).
