SFPD Makes Arrest Following Haight-Ashbury Collisions 20-022

On Monday, February 24, 2020, at approximately 9:15 PM San Francisco Police officers from Park Station responded to the area of Haight and Ashbury Streets on a report of a vehicle collision involving pedestrians. Witnesses told officers that a vehicle was driving on the sidewalk causing property damage. Officers located two pedestrians that had been struck by the vehicle. A male victim in his 30’s was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. A second male victim in his 20’s was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

While investigating the initial vehicle collision, SFPD received a report of shots fired in the area of Crown Terrace and Twin Peaks Boulevard. This report proved to be of no merit. However, officers responded to the area and located the suspect vehicle from the collision on Haight Street. The vehicle intentionally collided with a marked SFPD patrol car. The officers in the vehicle were uninjured. The officers detained a male, later identified as 18-year-old Case Estorco of Patterson, California and an 18-year-old female who was later released pending further investigation.

Estorco was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and later booked at San Francisco County Jail on charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, battery on a peace officer, driving under the influence, hit and run, battery causing serious bodily injury and assault with a deadly weapon. A booking photo of Estorco accompanies this news release.
