SFPD Make Arrests for Firearms Possession 18-151

On October 23rd, 2018 at approximately 2:54 AM uniformed officers stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation at Broadway and Powell Streets. During the traffic stop officers observed an open container of alcohol and the odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle. The officers conducted a search of the vehicle and found a loaded firearm. One of the occupants of the vehicle, Halifu Vickers a 42 year-old male San Francisco resident, was booked for possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a concealed firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and possession of a high capacity firearm magazine. The driver, Horace Cofield a 33 year-old male San Francisco resident, was cited for a headlight violation and driving without a driver’s license. One of the occupants in the vehicle, Byron King a 34 year-old male San Francisco resident was cited for possession of narcotics and smoking suspected marijuana in public.

On October 24, 2018 at approximately 5:20 PM patrol officers on foot were in the area of Jones and Market Streets when then they made contact with a male subject with a marijuana violation. During the contact the officers discovered a loaded handgun on the subject, identified as Jason Hall, a 28 year-old Antioch resident. Hall was booked for prohibited person in possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded firearm not registered as the owner, carrying a concealed firearm, and possession of marijuana for sale.

On October 25th, 2018 at approximately 11:11 PM, police officers in plain clothes were on duty in the area of Mission St. and Geneva Ave. when they saw a subject smoking a marijuana cigarette as he exited his car. The subject stated that his identification was located inside his parked vehicle, which they allowed him to retrieve. Upon retrieval of the ID the officers discovered a strong smell of marijuana coming inside the vehicle. The officers searched the car and found a loaded handgun, additional ammunition, suspected marijuana, and suspected methamphetamines. The suspect was identified as Darrell Hong, a 58 year-old San Francisco resident. Hong was booked for a concealed firearm within a vehicle and narcotics related charges.

On October 28th, 2018 at approximately 2:11 AM officers responded to 26th and Bartlett Streets regarding a shot spotter activation. Officers arrived on scene and located witnesses and spent shell casings. Officers began an investigation, which resulted in identifying a suspect and a suspect vehicle. At approximately 3:05 AM officers responded to the 700 block of Mission St. to investigate a parked vehicle, which had bullet holes. During the investigation of the parked vehicle, officers made contact with Floyd Wormley, who was identified as a person shooting a gun on 26th and Bartlett Streets. Officers conducted a search and discovered two loaded handguns, one of which was reported stolen from out of state. Wormley, a 24 year-old Sacramento male resident was arrested and booked for possession of a concealed firearm in a vehicle, carrying a concealed firearm, passenger concealing a firearm, carrying a loaded/stolen firearm, firing into an inhabited dwelling, and firing into an occupied vehicle.
