SFPD Make Arrest in November 2nd Stabbing Homicide 17-172

On November 2, 2017 at 2:06 PM, San Francisco Police officers were dispatched on a well-being check to a residence on the 300 block of Hayes Street in the Northern District. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, 48 year-old San Francisco resident Keith Harris, on the floor of an apartment suffering from multiple stab wounds. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but Harris unfortunately succumbed to his injuries at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital (ZSFGH).

San Francisco Police Homicide investigators began an investigation that led to the identity of the suspect. On November 7, 2017 at approximately 3:30 PM, San Francisco Sheriff’s deputies working at ZSFGH located and arrested 26 year-old San Francisco resident Othman Al-Muttalaby while he was being treated for an injury. The SFPD Homicide Detail was notified of the arrest. After being interviewed by SFPD Homicide investigators, Al-Muttalaby was booked in absentia on the charge of homicide. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s photos will not be released at this time.
