SFPD Make Arrest in Mission District Homicide 18-008

On January 11, 2018 at 8:14 PM, San Francisco Police officers responded to 1200 block of Potrero Avenue regarding a person who was stabbed and bleeding from the neck and torso. Upon arrival, officers found the victim, Mark Anthony Camacho, a 59 year-old San Francisco resident, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid. Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital by medical professionals.

An investigation by the SFPD Homicide Unit led to the identification and arrest of the suspect within 24 hours of the initial incident. On January 12, 2018, SFPD officers arrested Jesus Ramirez, a 48 year-old San Francisco resident. Ramirez was booked into the San Francisco County Jail for murder. Due to pending identification matters, the suspect’s photo will not be released at this time.
