SFPD Make Arrest in May 31st Homicide

San Francisco Police have made an arrest in the May 31, 2015 shooting homicide that occurred at McLaren Park. In that incident, at approximately 6:45am officers responded to a report of a male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound on a walking trail just off John F. Shelley Drive. Officers then located Jonathan Caballero, an 18 year old Balboa High School Student, unconscious and bleeding. Officers summoned an ambulance and rendered aid but unfortunately Caballero was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Through the course of the two month investigation, San Francisco Police Homicide Investigators developed probable cause to arrest Silvia Lorena Montoya, Hispanic female, 42, of San Francisco. Montoya was located in San Francisco where she was taken into custody and later booked into San Francisco County Jail for Caballero's murder. A booking photo accompanies this press release.
