SFPD Make Arrest in Human Trafficking Related Kidnapping 18-054

McCoy IIOn April 8th, 2018 at approximately 1:30AM, a 19 year-old female was forced into a car occupied by numerous suspects near 20th Street and Shotwell Street and kidnapped.  The victim was driven to Santa Clara County where she escaped and later made contact with law enforcement.  Santa Clara County authorities contacted San Francisco Police and an investigation was initiated.

Investigators from the SFPD Special Victims Unit Human Trafficking Team took over the investigation and were able to identify the suspect.  On April 8th, Oakland Police served a search warrant on the suspect’s residence in Oakland, CA and seized numerous firearms.  The suspect, Willie J. McCoy II, age 20, was booked on firearms violations and subsequently bailed out.

SFPD Special Victims Unit Human Trafficking investigators obtained a Ramey warrant for McCoy’s arrest for the kidnapping, threats and human trafficking offenses (bail $1,175,000.00). A crime alert was issued that included McCoy’s photograph.  On April 11th at approximately 3:23AM, officers from SFPD’s Mission Station saw McCoy in a silver Mercedes sedan and conducted a traffic stop near Cesar Chavez Street and Hampshire Street.  McCoy was taken into custody and later booked into San Francisco County Jail.
