SFPD Make Arrest in Central District Homicide (17-071)
On March 11, 2017, at 1:35 AM San Francisco Police officers responded to 500 block of Green Street in the Central District regarding a shooting. Upon arrival, the officers found the victim, Oswaldo Fuentes, twenty-one year old, Fairfield resident, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but unfortunately Fuentes succumbed to his injuries at San Francisco General Hospital.
San Francisco Police Homicide Investigators commenced an investigation that led to the identities of the suspects. On May 9, 2017, SFPD Narcotics Investigators located and arrested Juan Lopez-Palacios, a twenty-seven year old, Hayward resident, on the 22000 block of South Garden Avenue in Hayward. Two additional suspects were also arrested in connection with this homicide: Dean Mareta, a twenty-six year old, San Francisco resident, was arrested on the unit block of Shotwell by Mission Station officers; Vidal Sandoval, a thirty-nine year old, Oakland resident, was arrested in Oakland. SFPD Homicide investigators were notified and after the conclusion of interviews, all three suspects were charged for murder, conspiracy, and subsequently booked into San Francisco County Jail.
Due to pending identification matters, the subjects’ booking photos will not be released at this time.
