SFPD Make Arrest in Burglary Investigation 18-169
San Francisco Man Charged in Over 30 Incidents; $75,000 Worth of Losses
In early 2018, investigators from Southern Police Station began investigating a series of burglaries involving a suspect who frequently broke into apartment buildings and stole high end bicycles.
In August of 2018, the SFPD Burglary Detail took over the investigation of these and several other incidents that included commercial burglaries in various parts of the City.
The investigation led to the identification of 36 year-old San Francisco resident Gregory Cienfuegos as the primary suspect. An arrest warrant was issued for Cienfuegos in November of 2018.
Cienfuegos was arrested December 7, 2018 by officers from the Burglary Unit and Mission Station. Cienfuegos has been charged with thirty-two counts of burglary, fourteen counts of grand theft, and one count of felony vandalism. The total losses from the burglaries is approximately $75,000.
Cienfuegos’ booking photo accompanies this news release. While an arrest has been made, this is still an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the SFPD Anonymous Tip Line at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message.
