SFPD Investigators Seek Assistance in Assault of Elderly Woman
Investigators from the SFPD Major Crimes Unit are asking for the public to assist them in the investigation of an assault that occurred on May 10, 2015. The victim, a 77 year old Asian female, was exiting a MUNI bus when she was assaulted by the suspect, who reportedly struck the victim at least twice on the head. The suspect was described as a black female.
Investigators believe that at least one Good Samaritan came upon the scene and assisted the victim by moving her away from the side of the MUNI bus and into a seated position on the sidewalk. The Good Samaritan is believed to be a white male. Investigators would like to speak with him or anyone who may have witnessed this crime.
The incident is believed to have occurred between 12:00 P.M. and 2:30 P.M. on May 10th in the area Chinatown area, possibly on Stockton Street. The victim is a frequent rider of the following MUNI lines: 2 Clement, 3 Jackson, 30 Stockton and the 45 Union / Stockton, often traveling between the Japan town and the China town neighborhoods. She is currently hospitalized with life threatening injuries.
