SFPD Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) Makes Arrest in Internet Child Pornography Investigation
In March 2017 the SFPD Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit began an investigation into an individual who was uploading and storing hundreds of graphic child pornography files online.
As the result of the investigation the ICAC unit was able to identify the suspect as Nicholas Hodges, a twenty-eight (28) year-old San Francisco resident. It was further determined that Hodges was a children’s swim instructor in San Francisco
On 04/04/2017 SFPD investigators executed a search warrant Hodges’s residence in San Francisco.
During the search warrant investigators located numerous media devices belonging to Hodges, which all contained hundreds of child pornography files.
Hodges was arrested and taken into custody at his place of work. A cellphone was seized from him that contained additional evidence of child exploitation.
Hodges was charged with possession of child pornography, distribution of child pornography, production of child pornography, possession of over 600 files of child pornography, sending child pornography to a minor, and sending harmful material to a minor.
The investigation into Hodges’s involvement in children programs is on-going. Hodges’s employer has and continues to be cooperative and involved in the police investigation.
