SFPD Arrests Mission District Homicide Suspect 24-148(a)

Stabbing suspect arrested

On November 29, 2024, at approximately 6:25 a.m., San Francisco Police Officers responded to the area of Mission and Sycamore Streets regarding a stabbing. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim suffering from a stab wound. Officers rendered aid and requested paramedics to the scene who transported the victim to the hospital for life-threatening injuries. Despite the lifesaving efforts of the medical staff, the victim was later declared deceased at the hospital.

The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and is leading the investigation. Through the course of the investigation investigators identified the suspect. Investigators developed probable cause to obtain search warrants.

On December 16, 2024, patrol officers from Mission Station located the suspect and placed him in custody. When investigators later served the search warrants for residences in San Francisco, they located and seized evidence pertaining to the investigation.

The suspect, identified as 18-year-old male Hector Armando Lopez Romero, was arrested and transported to San Francisco County Jail where he was booked for homicide (187 PC).
